eARTh simply grounded

Vor nicht allzu langer Zeit las ich ein Zitat, welches besagt: The earth without art is just „eh“.

Zur gleichen Zeit testete ich verschiedene Materialien, welche Risse, Brüche und Linien hinterlassen und lies mich durch diese in der Farbgestaltung leiten. Darüber hinaus ist es so: trocknet die Erde aus, formt sie in sich eine eigene Art der Kunst durch die Struktur ihrer Risse - zufällig und künstlerisch. Ist es nicht auch so, dass auch Menschen durch ihre Erfahrungen „Risse“ in sich tragen, nicht sichtbar, aber vorhanden. Doch auch diese Risse führen, trotz Verlusten (so wie die Erde das Wasser misst) , zu einer neuen Form (oder Kunst) von uns, indem wir uns selbst „bewusst werden“. Im Deutschen sagen wir dazu auch „erden“.

 

In der Summe dieser Dinge kam ich also nicht umhin mich zu fragen, ob hier nicht eine Parallele zu mir und meinen Bildern bestand und beschloss mit diesen Bildern eine neue Serie zu starten und sie eARTh zu nennen.

At the same time, I tested various materials that leave cracks, breaks and lines and I was guided by these in the color design. In addition to that: when the earth dries out, it forms its own form of art in itself, through the structure of its cracks - randomly and artistically. Isn't it also the case, that people also carry “cracks” inside themselves, caused through their experiences, not visible, but they are present. But even those cracks, despite losses (just like the earth misses the water), lead to a new form (or art), when we become “aware” of ourselves. In German we call it „erden“ (translated word by word it would mean „to earth“ like "to ground").

 

So, taking all of these circumstances and coincidences together, I couldn't help but wonder whether there was a parallel to me and my pictures and decided to start a new series with these pictures and call them eARTh.
